Chris Hoy Trains Paddy McGuinness for Epic Charity Ride

Former Olympian Chris Hoy has taken on the role of cycling mentor for comedian and TV personality Paddy McGuinness, as the pair gear up for a grueling charity ride across Europe.

The two are set to embark on a 1,000-mile journey from London to Rome in September, raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity. The charity holds a special place in McGuinness's heart as his nephew, Leo, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2017.

"I'm incredibly grateful to Chris for taking me under his wing," said McGuinness. "He's an absolute legend and I'm learning so much from him. It's not going to be easy, but we're both determined to make it to Rome and raise as much money as we can for the Brain Tumour Charity."

Hoy, a six-time Olympic gold medalist and renowned cycling champion, has been sharing his expertise and experience with McGuinness. The training regime includes long distance rides, strength and conditioning workouts, and meticulous bike fit sessions.

"Paddy is a natural athlete and he's been putting in the hard work," commented Hoy. "He's really dedicated to this challenge and I'm confident that we can complete this ride together. It's a fantastic cause and we want to make a real difference for those affected by brain tumours."
