With Download Festival 2025 just around the corner, anticipation is reaching fever pitch. And who better to get insights from than the legendary Green Day, headlining the main stage this year? We caught up with Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool to get their picks for must-see acts across the festival.

Billie Joe Armstrong (Guitarist/Vocals):

"I'm really excited to see The 1975," Billie Joe shared, "They've got such a great energy live, and I'm a big fan of their newer stuff. I think they're going to bring something really special to Download."

Beyond the headliners, Billie Joe has his eye on a rising punk band: "I heard good things about The Murder Capital, a band from Dublin. They're heavy, they're raw, and they're going to shake the ground. I'm curious to check them out."

Mike Dirnt (Bass):

Mike Dirnt's focus leans towards the heavier side: "I'm looking forward to seeing Slipknot. They always put on a show. It's a chaotic, intense, and unforgettable experience."

He also highlighted a band known for their unique blend of metal and prog: "I’ve been meaning to catch Mastodon for years. They're truly innovative, and I'm intrigued by their concept-driven music."

Tré Cool (Drums):

Always the jokester, Tré Cool had a lighter take: "Honestly, I'm just looking forward to a good time, some great music, and maybe a few beers. But if I have to pick, Yungblud is someone I've been wanting to see for a while. He's got this raw energy that I think would go down great at Download."

He added, "I'm also curious about Nova Twins. They're one of the hottest new bands out there, and their blend of punk, rock, and electronic is just cool."

Download 2025 is shaping up to be an epic festival, with a diverse lineup catering to every taste. With Green Day leading the charge and these hidden gems waiting to be discovered, it's a can't-miss event for any music lover.
