Sri Lanka Dominate: Mendis 143, Fernando 100

Colombo, Sri Lanka - Sri Lanka delivered a dominant performance, powered by a sensational double century stand between Kusal Mendis (143) and Charith Asalanka (100), to completely dismantle Zimbabwe in the second ODI at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday.

The hosts, having already secured a series win with a comfortable victory in the first match, showcased their batting prowess with Mendis and Asalanka leading the charge.

Mendis, in particular, was in phenomenal form, smashing 18 fours and 3 sixes in his aggressive innings. He reached his century off just 96 balls, highlighting the tempo of his batting. Asalanka was equally impressive, bringing up his maiden ODI hundred with a well-constructed knock.

The pair shared a monumental 213-run partnership for the third wicket, laying the foundation for Sri Lanka's massive total.

Zimbabwe's bowlers were simply unable to contain the Sri Lankan onslaught. They struggled for control and were often punished for their inconsistency.
